Minutes from meeting on February 13, 2011

This letter is being sent early due to the ice fishing contest and there will not be another letter sent before our next meeting in March.

Next meeting is on Sunday, March 13, 2011 at 6:30 PM

Meeting was called to order and conducted by Pres. Daryl Kinnear.

Treasurer report……Dean………statements and financial information were available at meeting

Conservation….Al introduced the deer research team and Andrew from the team had an update report on their project . This is a very interesting project and we should be proud to be included. They do need our help and cooperation. The most interesting number I heard was 50% of our fawn newborns could be victims of bears and coyotes, along with about 100 from hay harvesting equipment. It’s no wonder about the deteriorating numbers.

Norm presented the facts about our upcoming fundraising banquet on March 19 and finalized numbers for expenses. Good job, Norm.

Reminder: stubs and tickets need to be paid for by March 4th or they will be available to others.

Motion was made and approved to donate up to $200. For safety instructors appreciation dinner. We provide the beverages for this event. Great cause…

We talked about the future projects and getting back to basics. We will be voting on a project for this summer at March meeting . We need your input.

Also, we scheduled an ice fishing contest on Lake Chetek on Saturday, February 26 from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm. Free brats and prizes for largest Northern, Crappies, and Blue Gills. Exit off Hyway 48 to Sportsman’s Bar and drive towards islands. Follow the noise and you are there……..call Denny with any questions. We need participation. Sorry for the late notice but have to do it before March 1st.

Jim agreed to be the Trout Fest Chairman again but expects and deserves more cooperation and help.

Thanks, Jim.

Bob Swenson shared his passion for collecting caps and any member who has extra caps, he would be happy to purchase them. Bring to next meeting for Bob.

Welcome new members………Bob Chady and Jack Purkis

Daryl talked about members coming to the meeting “half in the bag” and disrupting meetings. This will not be tolerated. Also the Club House is a NO SMOKING facility…………state law.

Thanks for a great meeting. See you at next meeting………Sunday, March 13, 2011
